is the place to go. They have a huge selection of home schooling
books, curriculum, kits, and other things. CHER is run by a home
schooling family. They have been helping home schoolers since

Note: CHER is an online store, but they are located in Calgary,
so you can book a time in the CHER Preview Room to view your
materials before purchasing them. To do this, you place your
Preview order online, and then call or email to book your time.

- Books Between Friends - Used Books
Books Between Friends sells donated books, CDs, DVDs, to raise
money for many Calgary charities. They have great prices, tons
of books, and lots of different categories of books for children

- Spectrum Educational Supplies Limited
This is not in Calgary, but it is an excellent source available
by mail. They sell a huge range of educational products. Some
are large sets for institutional classrooms, but they have many
excellent products for home schoolers, as well as an incredible
selection of educational Lego sets (many not available in toy
stores). Order their catalog from their Internet site.

- Solarbotics
Solarbotics has lots of small electronics and robotics kits.
Their kits require basic soldeing skills. This is not a home
school store, but if your child is interested in building electonics
and robots and is up to soldering, this is a great source. And
they are located right here in Calgary (they ship all over the
world). And they are very helpful.
